Boutique safaris designed by the people who live here - for travelers who want something real.

[ OUR STORY ]

Misele (ME-seh-lay) — to be on the road with no definite destination, letting the trip take you where it goes. It is also how this Tanzania safari company was built.

For over 15 years, Misele Safaris has grown almost entirely through word of mouth from travelers returning home and telling their friends about the guide who made their Tanzania safari unforgettable. Our founder, Reggie Melkiad, built Misele around a simple conviction: the best safaris happen when guides are treated as partners, not drivers — people with the knowledge, the freedom, and the care to create something genuinely theirs.

We have been budget travelers ourselves. We know what it means to save for a trip that matters and arrive somewhere changed. That understanding shapes how we treat every traveler, at every budget level.

Built on Connection, Not Commission.

[ WHY MISELE ]

Why Travelers Keep Sending Their Friends to Us

Tanzanian-Led, local knowledge

We live here. We know when a migration route shifts, when a lodge changes, when a road closes. That ground-level knowledge isn't available from a desk overseas.

Guides with creative autonomy

Most operators give guides a fixed route. We give ours freedom. Your guide is the architect of your experience — with the instinct to linger, to detour, to find the real thing.

Genuinely competitive value

Locally owned, no Western overhead, no aggregator commissions. What you pay goes into your experience with better guides, better logistics, greater flexibility.

Real people, real accountability

When you write to Misele, you're writing to someone who knows your guide personally. Our team members are safari enthusiasts, fellow travelers in this world, and want to welcome you to our Tanzanian home.

"Our guide didn’t just show us animals, he showed us how to see. We still talk about that trip like it happened last week."
